The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® is one of the first and largest humane societies in North America. It was founded in 1866 by Henry Bergh. Mr. Bergh believed in strong preventative measures against animal cruelty in the United States. ASPCA rescue animals from toxic environments and relocate them into caring homes and facilities.

"Our goal is to free animals from cruelty and institutionalized exploitation around the world."

Friends of animals has been around since 1957and has operations all over the world. They work on many different categorize to make the lives of animals better. Friends of Animals are taking the lead in creating low-spaying and neutering treatments, ending exploitation of fur-bearing animals, and advocating animal rights.

American Humane

American Humane has had a huge impact on animal safety by hosting trainings in all fields. These training range from teaching officers how to recognize animal cruelty, to teaching chefs how to create plant based meals, to teaching veterinarians how to properly care for animals.

 Defenders of Wildlife

The Defenders of Wildlife seek to protect endangered animals by following three key actions: Preventing, Preserving, and Restoring. The Defenders have already made some great achievement over the last 30 years including more than 100 collaboration projects to prevent conflicts with grizzly bears and wolves in the West.

Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends Animal Society has been around for over 30 years and their goal is simple: to reduce the killings of animals in shelters. One way they do this is by preventing animals from going into shelters in the first place and get rid of animal homelessness. Best Friends Animal Society also claims to have the largest no-kill pet sanctuary.
